Today I joined the world of blogging and must say, it is a challange to keep up with modern technology and where it is taking us. It is like playing golf with hickory sticks with wooden heads and jumping straight to graphite. Suddenly, you hit the ball one hundred yards farther. It also could be compared to driving a Model T and then getting into a Ford Flex for the first time.
Soon I hope to introduce my First Book about Golf to the youth and beginning golfers in the world. Since my retirement I have been able to fullfill my life long passion of golf more. As a result I have gathered a group of senior volunteers together with the same passion and began teaching kids the game of golf at the Boys & Girls Club of Pekin, Illinois. In one month we have introduced over 80 kids to golf. See video on youtube junior golf of pekin. We have began teaching golf in the C B Smith elementary school and have introduced another 160 kids, mostly 2nd and 3rd graders. The kids love golf and we love teaching golf. I recommend it to any senior, it is good exercise and brings a satisfaction to your heart that we long for.
As a result of passion fullfillment, I have reflected back to the person most responsible for my life long enjoyment of the game. The book I have written is about her and the fact that she did not need to call me but did. That one phone call changed my life and chartered my journey in life. I only hope that I can do the same for a youth someday.
